My name is Mr. Wallis, known by many as “The Bearded Missionary.” I live and serve in Kenya, where God has blessed me with two wonderful sons — Sylvester and Joseph James. Their journeys are powerful reminders of God’s grace and the importance of love in action.
Seven years ago, Sylvester was brought to the gate of my compound in Nakuru. His mother, blind and unable to care for him, placed her teenage son in my hands, praying for a better life for him.
Sylvester had lived in deep poverty — sleeping on a muddy floor, often sick, and out of school. His father was an abusive drunk, and their home was made of tin sheets and dirt floors.
Today, by the grace of God, Sylvester has finished trade school as a mechanic and dreams of attending Baptist Bible College near Nairobi to prepare for a life of service. We are praying and raising funds to make that dream possible.
Joseph James came into our lives as a newborn miracle. He was abandoned at just one week old by a young mother who said God told her to give her baby to a woman she trusted.
When we first met Joseph, he was lifeless and hadn’t cried in over 12 hours. We rushed to get milk and formula, and after 20 minutes of prayer and trying, he began to drink. Amen! By the time we reached the clinic, he had taken a bottle and a half.
He weighed just 4.4 pounds when we took him in, but today he’s strong, healthy, and thriving — a bright 4-year-old with a big heart and an even bigger smile.
Our mission is simple: to provide a home, education, and a future for children in need here in Kenya. Your prayers and donations make that possible.
Every gift — big or small — helps us:
Together, we can continue changing lives — one child, one story, one blessing at a time.
